Hi — I'm Ola, the maker behind Mecart. Every buckle starts as a sketch. I design it, 3D print the pattern, pack it in sand, and pour molten recycled aluminium by hand. Then I grind, polish, and finish it until it's right. No shortcuts in that process — and it shows in the result. Sand casting is one of the oldest metalworking methods there is. I use it because it gives each piece a weight and a character you can't get from a stamped or milled part. Every buckle carries small traces of how it was made. That's not a flaw — that's the point.
